Jade T. Perry
(M. Ed) is an interdisciplinary artist, writer, speaker, educator, coach, and spiritualist.

Jade T. Perry (she / they) is a BlackQueerDisabledFemme on a mission. The mission of her work, as a whole, is to contribute resources, art, narratives, and experiential learning opportunities that aid in the holistic healing processes of Blackfolk, Queer & Trans Black & Indigenous People of Color (QTBIPOC), and disabled and / or chronically ill folks within these communities.

JTP has extensive training in Integrative Arts (focusing on Performance Art & Creative Writing). She’s served for 7+ years in the Higher Education industry & spent 10+ years in Socio-spiritual Justice / Spiritual Activism work. She blends these disciplines to provide experiential learning opportunities, coaching, courses, healing art circles, consultation, and workshop / keynote facilitation.

JTP carries on the tradition of Black Spirituality & Healing in new ways, attempting to expand upon & re-interpret the gifts given by her foremothers. She is a healing artist in the Black Feminist Tradition, utilizing tools such as divination, energy work, ritual, and more. Moreover, JTP is known as The Churchy Mystic™ (churchy ≠ Christian). While she practices within various spiritual traditions, she also pays homage to how Afro-diasporic folklore, magick, and mysticism have been historically expressed in Black Charismatic & Spiritualist churches. Currently, she is working to bring “The Churchy Mystic: Essays on Folk Healing, Afro-futurism, Lineage, & Spiritual Activism” to the people.

In 2017, Jade T. Perry co-founded The Mystic Soul Project nonprofit organization. Now, you can find her in business at Jade T. Perry LLC as a multiply-skilled, sex-positive, Black Feminist creative. Her work, voice, and perspectives have been featured by the National Museum of African American History & Culture, The Feminist Wire, Autostraddle.com, and countless colleges & universities. “Jade T. Perry’s writing is moving, pure and simple.

She reminds us of the clarity that comes with being one’s authentic self. By this, I mean the courage to be transparent in public spaces. Jade is a provocateur, but not in the sense of grenade tossing for clicks. Her words betray her desire to free us, and her own deep connection to the Universe.”

| KIMBERLY PEELER-RINGER, THE CHURCHED FEMINIST |

“Working with Jade to plan and implement a training on Contemplative Activism was a joyful process from start to finish….

Jade’s clear communication about her process, ethic, and needs helped me to clarify our objectives for the training, and to have a clear sense of timeline in our planning process. While “virtual” trainings can be a challenge, especially when interactive facilitation is the goal, Jade was wonderfully able to engage Life Together fellows in dialogue and to facilitate small groups despite not being physically present in the room. Her open and honest communication helped the fellowsto ask questions about the frameworks being presented, and her invitation to “take what works for you, and leave the rest” allowed fellows to engage with the materials in a way that worked for them. Fellows left the session feeling seen, stimulated, and encouraged to continue exploring Contemplative Activism in their daily lives. We had a great experience working with Jade, and hope to continue our collaborations in the future!

When I tell you this Goddess has an aura that feels like lifetimes of wisdom are surrounding her, it is the absolute truth. She helped me unravel things that I’d been stressing over for longer than I care to admit [...] What she brings to the world is special and I am thankful to have met her.
